Non-Structural Parapet

Nucor's Non-Structural Parapet Systems consist of extended wall panels and a (18 gauge) spacer 10’-0” long to provide structural support. Typically these types of parapets are used on buildings with lower roof slopes.

At the high eave parapet condition, the minimum height above the roof steel line is 10”. The maximum height above the roof steel line is 3’-6”. At the rake parapet condition, the minimum height above the roof steel line is 10”. The maximum height above the roof steel line at the rake condition is 3’-6”. Allowable heights above the roof line for non-structural parapets varies based on codes and loads in your specific local. Please be sure to consult with sales engineering or estimating prior to qualifying the type required.

Standard parapet back panel is to be “Classic Wall”™ panel, 26 gauge, and Galvalume® in color. The parapet cap trim color will match the wall panel color.

When defining the non-structural parapet for order placement, please include the elevation for the top of the parapet, the specific location requirements for the parapet, and the back panel requirements. Non-structural parapets are not an option at the low eave of the building.
