TrussFrame - Open Web Rigid Frame
Nucor TrussFrame is an open web rafter system that is often used in clear span situations up to 300′ or more. TrussFrame allows HVAC, wiring, and sprinkler systems to be incorporated into the trusses, and recommended when an open column-free interior is required. More about TrussFrame
Gable - Clear Span Rigid Frame
When large clear span areas are required for special industrial and commercial projects, the Clear span frame type is typically the economical choice. This tapered member frame, available in gable or single slope, is typically used in clear span situations from 40′ to 150′, and can be used with either cold-form purlins or open web joists.
Single Slope - Clear Span Rigid Frame
The tapered member frame is typically used in clearspan situations from 40′ to 150′. Common roof slopes of 1/4 to 4 in 12 are offered. A single slope rigid frame is also a creative way of adding to an existing structure. Clear span can be used with either cold-form purlins or open web joists.
Gable - Modular Rigid Frame
Our modular rigid frame is available in gable or single slope, with interior columns that can provide multiple spans on wider buildings. This economical frame type offers individual spans of 40′ to 80′ and building widths from 80′ to 300′ or more. Roof slopes are 1/4 to 1 in 12. The Modular frame can be designed with cold-form purlins or open web joists.
The lean-to steel frame joins to, and is supported by, a main building frame. Common spans are 20′ to 60′, and are available in purlins or open web joists. The lean-to frame must be supported on the high side by an adjoining building column.
Tapered Beam - Rigid Frame
Suitable for all types of small buildings that require clearspans from 20′ to 60′, the tapered beam’s straight column rigid frame is designed for maximum efficiency of interior space. Roof slopes of 1/4 to 1 in 12 are available. Tapered beam frames are ideal for partitioning interior bays and small crane support systems.

Nucor Building Systems supplies either cold-formed purlins or our open web bar joist system, Nucor ClearBay® . The decision on which structural members to use will be based on the economy of each member, the roof system used, the product application, or by customer choice at the time of order entry.
Wall Secondary Structural
Girt conditions refer to the method in which horizontal girts are attached to the exterior columns of your building. The decision on which structural members to use will be based on the economy of each member, the wall system used, product application, or by customer choice.
Flush Girt: where no space is provided between the columns and exterior panels, offering maximum floor space
Inset Girt: where minimum air space is provided between the columns and exterior panels
Bypass Girt: makes a continuous run around the outside of a building’s columns, providing an air space equal to girt depth between the columns and exterior panels
Nucor’s continuous purlin system meets the stringent requirements of the latest edition of the AISI specification. All open web joists are designed in accordance with the Steel Joist Institute requirements. Purlins of 12” depth are also available for some applications. Consult Nucor for specifics.
