Lorain County Fairgrounds Complex
Versatile Fairgrounds Complex with Clear Span Arena
To transform the fairgrounds into a year-round destination for events beyond the county’s annual fair, the Lorain County Agricultural Society embarked on a significant expansion. This project features the Ross Expo Center and the Maureen M. Cromling Memorial Arena. The 68,200 sf Expo Center is a versatile, multi-purpose venue with a 150’ clear span and 20’ clear height, offering a spacious, unobstructed interior that can be easily adapted for a variety of events.
The 32,400 sf open-air horse arena is a covered, competition-sized facility with generous clear span and height, ensuring full use without barriers. While the arena’s exterior matches the aesthetic of the Expo Center with an exterior envelope by others, it features Nucor’s CFR roof system and A-Panels around its perimeter. Together, these facilities that feature expansive clear spans, flexible layouts, and durable metal construction, represent a lasting investment in both the fairgrounds and the greater Lorain County, Ohio community.
