University Recreational Building with External Steel Columns

The Grand Canyon University, Student Recreation Center is a 31,000 square foot athletic recreation center located in the heart of the campus.  The building was designed using a single slope clear span pre-engineered Nucor building and features an interior clear height to meet the requirements for competitive college volleyball and basketball. The low side tapered columns are set external of the building, and its interior features perforated acoustical liner panel.

Made up of three full-length basketball courts, a practice facility and two weight rooms, the center acts as one of the main training facilities for men’s and women’s ice hockey, lacrosse, rugby, soccer, volleyball and basketball teams.
