Six Building Private Hangar Complex

Phase II of a six-building, 35-door massive hangar project, located at the Falcon Field Airport in Mesa, AZ, has raised the level of the city airport’s clientele. The total project encompasses approximately 300,000 square feet of space. Multiple buildings in the project include mezzanines requested by the owner due to the benefit of extra square-footage. The buildings are high-end hangars capable of holding large planes and jets, which are leased out by the airport to corporations.

Originally calling for wide gable buildings, the design was converted to single slope structures with a jack beam across the high side to frame the hangar doors, offering superior economic benefits.

Nucor's use of design technology increased the efficiency of this project. 3D BIM technology offered a three-dimensional replica of the buildings prior to construction, with Nucor Tekla drawings, and our ShakeoutPro staging app to stage the jobsite.
