Airport Hangar with Metl-Span IMP and Norco Door

The AVMATS Hangar 45 Expansion adds 39,000 sf of hangar space alongside 9,125 sf of shop and office space, giving AVMATS the room to support its growing maintenance and overhaul operations. The project was designed as a mirror image of the NBS single slope hangar originally built for AVMATS in years past, creating a cohesive, symmetrical facility across the site.

The structure features Metl-Span’s ThermalSafe® insulated metal panels in the Santa Fe profile, delivering a fire-resistant wall assembly rated at one, two, or three hours, with a 1.5-hour rating for ceilings — an added layer of protection suited to an active aviation maintenance environment. The Nucor CFR roof system in Galvalume Plus completes the exterior with a clean, durable finish that matches the original 2019 structure. NBS also engineered the structural support for the hangar’s 165’ x 30’ sliding door by Norco, accommodating wide-body aircraft with ease.
