Nucor Draft Curtains for steel buildings may be “transverse” (parallel
with building main frames) or “longitudinal”
(perpendicular to building main frames). Standard draft
curtains shall be sheeted on one side only.The bottom of
the standard “transverse” draft curtain shall
run parallel with the building roof line. The bottom of
the standard “longitudinal” draft curtain shall
run parallel with the floor of the building.
Standard draft
curtain framing shall be field assembled with angles and
self-drilling fasteners provided by Nucor. Angles will need
to be field cut to length. Standard draft curtain sheeting
and flashing shall consist of a white, 28 gauge, Nucor
Classic Wall™ panels with color matching
trim at walls, roof and base of panel.
Optional sheeting
material (not by Nucor) may be used but must not exceed
three pounds per square foot. The standard draft curtain framing
will allow 4’-0”, 6’-0”, and 8’-0”
draft curtain heights. Draft curtain heights of greater
than 8’-0” will utilize optional framing techniques
requiring additional field work. The standard transverse
draft curtain location is 1’-4” away from the
centerline of the frame. If a different location is required,
please specify this location on the order documents. |
