Draft Curtains

Nucor Draft Curtains may be “transverse” (parallel with building main frames) or “longitudinal” (perpendicular to building main frames). Standard draft curtains shall be sheeted on one side only.

The bottom of the standard “transverse” draft curtain shall run parallel with the building roof line. The bottom of the standard “longitudinal” draft curtain shall run parallel with the floor of the building. Standard draft curtain framing shall be field assembled with angles and self-drilling fasteners provided by Nucor. Angles will need to be field cut to length. Standard draft curtain sheeting and flashing shall consist of 28 gauge, polar white, Nucor “Classic Wall”™ panels with color matching trim at walls, roof and base of panel.

Optional sheeting material (not by Nucor) may be used but must not exceed three pounds per square foot. The standard draft curtain framing will allow 4’-0”, 6’-0”, and 8’-0” draft curtain heights. Draft curtain heights of greater than 8’-0” will utilize optional framing techniques requiring additional field work. The standard transverse draft curtain location is 1’-4” away from the centerline of the frame. If a different location is required, please specify this location on the order documents.
